English League One 2013-2014 season preview

Uk league one , also know as Npower league one , due to the sponsor, is the second highest division of the Football League and was founded in 2004. Before 2004 , it was known as Football League Second Division. It is a competition with twenty-four teams, that are trying to promote into the higher league , Football League Championship. The division consists of teams that remain from last season, to which we add seven teams : three from 2012–13 Football League Championship, and four teams from the 2012–13 Football League Two. The season is set to start in on 3 August 2013 and will end on 3 May 2014.

Each team will play 46 matches this season , 23 home and 23 away. At the end of the season , the top two teams in the rankings along with the the winner of the play-offs between the teams which finished in 3rd–6th position ,are promoted to Football League Championship. The 2013-2014 season will bring new teams into the competition, some coming with high hops and other trying to erase the shame of relegation and return as soon as possible in the Premier League. Gillingham, Rotherham, Port Vale, Bradford, Peterborough, Wolves and Bristol City are new to division 1, last three teams were relegated from the Championship.

Previous Season of England League One

The 2012 -2013 season began on 18 August 2012 and ended on 27 April 2013. Was an interesting season at the end of which three teams were able to promote to Football League Championship. The last season champions Doncaster, who were followed by Bournemouth, and along with Yeovil , who managed to beat Brentford in the play-off final at Wembley will try this year to withstand most experienced teams in the premier league. Scunthorpe United, Bury, Hartlepool United, Portsmouth left the league and we will meet them next season in npower League 2.
