Odds to win the competition |
|
SPAIN |
 |
Spain are the current World and
European Champions. Everyone will expect them to perform as well
as before next summer in Poland and Ukraine. They won Group I in
the qualification stage with an impressive 8 games, 8 wins, 26
goals scored and 6 goals against. They are still a dominant
force in the World and European football and they will surely
show that next year as well. |
3.75
- Spain is the top favorite according to the bookmakers.
Excellent style of play, great players, everyone expects to see
them at least in the final for this tournament. |
|
GERMANY |
 |
Germany is one of the most
successful teams in international competitions. They won the
World Cup three times and the European Championship also three
times. As Spain, they clearly dominated their qualification
group, Group A. 10 games played, 10 wins, 34 goals scored and 7
against. This makes them a true force in the European football
and a strong candidate for the title next year. |
5
- Brilliant performance in the qualification stage. They proved
they are a force in the European Football, and their objective
on every tournament will be the trophy. Second favorites
according to the bookmakers. |
|
NETHERLANDS |
 |
Netherlands is another of the top
national football teams from Europe. Without impressing, they
easily won their qualification group, Group E with 9 wins and 1
loss from the 10 games they have played. The loss came in the
last game against Sweden, thus making Sweden the best runner up
from all games and granted them direct qualification to the
final tournament. Netherlands displayed a very good form in the
last World Cup tournament, eliminating Uruguay and Brazil, and
getting in the final, loosing the final after extra time against
Spain. They still remain one of the strongest football team in
Europe and the world. |
7
- Finalists in the last World Cup tournament, they proved they
have the strength to fight for every trophy on final
tournaments. Good team, very organized, great players. Last in
bookmaker`s top 3. |
|
ENGLAND |
 |
England is the oldest football
national team, along with Scotland. They played the first game
against each-other in 1872. England won qualification Group G
without defeat, with 5 wins and 3 draws from the 8 games played.
Their highest performance in the European Championship
tournaments was reaching the semi-finals in 1968 and 1996.
|
13
- England starts every final tournament with high hopes, but
they end up feeling a bit disappointed. They want this trophy
and they will work hard to get it. Fourth place in bookmaker`s
favorites top. |
|
FRANCE |
 |
World Champions in 1998 and
European Champions in 2000, France managed to get in the final
of the World Cup tournament in 2006. Since then, France hasn`t
managed to get anymore notable performances. The last tournament
performance in 2010 was considered disastrous and this thing led
to a major reconstruction in the federation and also the
national football team. Former international Laurent Blanc was
appointed as manager. France won qualification Group D with 6
wins, 3 draws and 1 from 10 games. |
14
- France badly needs to redeem their name after the shameful
elimination in the group stage last year in South Africa. A new
coach, some new players, but the team still struggles sometimes.
Only 5`th place on the favorites list. |
|
ITALY |
 |
After winning the European
Championship in 1968, Italy was able to get only in the final in
2000 as the highest performance. They lost the final to France
after extra time. They won qualification Group C with 8 wins and
2 draws in 10 games played, and they hope to have a good
tournament next year. |
15
- Italy seems so be suffering from an aging problem. Some of the
players got close to the end of their career and the younger
players don`t have yet the experience necessary. Only sixth
place on the favorites list. |
