This West Yorkshire course has thrived since the opening of the M62 as Junction 32 is just half a mile away while links with the A1, M1 and M18 are within 10 miles.
Being a stiff, undulating two-mile track, the emphasis is on stamina in the staying races but front runners are ideally suited in sprints where a low draw is important. It holds several long-distance races throughout the season with the start invariably in front of the enclosures.

St Pancras to Pontefract Baghill, change at Sheffield; Kings Cross to Pontefract Monkhill. Short bus ride
Left-hand very undulating and sharp track with a run-in of about 2f. The finish is uphill and the sprint course is quite stiff. Low numbers best but a quick break is essential.
