Australian Open is at his 102 edition this year. The tournament is the first major grand slam and has started on 13 Jan and will end in 26 Jan. Last year Novak Djokovic was the champion at single`s men and Victoria Azarenka at women`s single. Now we enter the last week of the tournament. There were a few surprises, especially at WTA , but largely the bookmakers favorites will play the final rounds. We know that Tomas Berdych will play in the semifinals , after winning three rounds against David Ferrer. (6-1,6-4,2-6,6-4). Novak Djokovic vs Stanislas Wawrinka. The main favorite to win is Djokovic , who has won almost all the time against Stanislas . Last time when Stanislas has won agaisnt Djokovic was in 2006. Rafael Nadal vs Grigor Dimitrov. Started in 1900 as a competition between the U.S. and Great Britain ,Davis Cup tournament in 2013 reached a total of 130 teams listed in the competition from all around the world . Only 16 teams will reached the final group, known as World Group. United State holds the record for the most titles win , 32 in number, follow by Australia with 28 titles. The teams that have managed to reach the World Group this year are: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Spain , Switzerland and United State. At this point, we know who have reached the semifinals. In the first semifinal, Canada will meet Serbia (2010 winners). Canada is here after they managed to pass in the first round the 2011 winner, Spain and ,in the quarterfinals, Italy with a total score by 3-1. Serbia , after a 3 to 2 against Belgium in the first round , they managed a victory in front of USA, 3-1, who holds the record for the most Davis Cup wins , 32 titles. If there is no surprise , we will see in the finals Serbia , with no 1 ATP player Novak Djokovic. In the second semifinal Argentina will play against last year champions Czech Republic. The match is a replay of the 2012 semifinal , when the two teams have met at the same stage. Then Czech Republic has manage to win with a total score of 3 to 2. Argentina now has a chance to take revenge for last year and maybe winning the final, being the only nation to have lost four Davis Cup finals without winning the title; the last time they have played a final was in 2011 in front of Spain. The Wimbledon tennis tournament or The Championships ,as it is also called, is the oldest and most prestigious tournament taking place on the same surface as it started in 1877 , the grass. The tournament takes place over two weeks, in late June and early July, and is hosted by the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, UK. The tournament this year is likely to go down in history as one of the big surprises, the madness elimination of world tennis giants is beyond all imagination. From the very beginning big names of tennis were eliminated, Nadal and Federer lost in front of players who are not in the top 100 ATP. At WTA Wimbledon surprises go hand in hand with those from ATP. Two of the top three players on the planet, Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova, left the competition, Belarusian due to injury, while beautiful Russian girl lost in front of the unknown Michelle Larcher De Brito (WTA 131). Serena Williams , she also left the tour at the beginning of the second week of the competition. Champion last year and the main favorite in this edition, Serena lost to Sabine Lisicki of Germany in three sets, after two hours of play. Now we already know who will play in the final . It is Marion Bartoli, 15 WTA, who qualified today in the womens final at Wimbledon after she defeated Kirsten Flipkens in two sets. One of the most popular tennis tournaments played on outdoor grass courts, Wimbledon started this year on June 27 and will end on July 7. It is a tournament for both men and women tennis players. The ATP grand slam tennis tournament at Wimbledon began with a series of surprises. Rafael Nadal left the competition in the first round. The spaniard, number 5 in the world rankings, was defeated by belgian Steve Darcis, number 135 in ATP, in three sets ,score 7-6, 7-6, 6-3. The elimination of Roger Federer,no. 3 ATP and winner of the 2012 ATP Wimbledon , was the surprise of the second round. Federer, the tennis world legend, was eliminated by Ukrainian player Sergey Stahovski, number 116 ATP in four sets. It was not a easy task for Stahovski, almost each set ending at tie-break. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga , Marin Cilic were forced to withdraw from the tournament since the second round , due to knee injury. In these conditions, the tournament promises to be one devoid of spectacular matches, such as those of Federer, Nadal. The number 1 ATP , Novak Djokovic, managed to reach the quarterfinals, where he will meet number 7 ATP Beryl Thomas. David Ferrer will play against Juan Martin del Potro and Andy Murray, number 2 ATP will meet Fernando Verdasco . We already know that in the semifinals will have a Polish player. Jerzy Janowicz will fight against his fellow Lukasz Kubot for a place closer to the final. This year Top Shelf is taking place from June 16 through June 22 in Netherland , at theAutotron park in Rosmalen, near s-Hertogenbosch .

The tournament is one of five ATP World Tour events played on outdoor grass courts , and hosts both the mens and womens tours in the week before the Wimbledon.

Last year winner at Women’s Singles was Nadia Petrova , who played against the second Finalist U. Radwanska.At Men’s Singles the winner was David Ferrer , who lost this year in front of Xavier Mellise. In 2012 , at Men’s Doubles Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecău were the champions , but this year Robert Lindstedt decided not to participate, and his place alongside Tecau is taken by Max Mirnyi. The winners in 2012 at Womens Doubles , Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, decided also not to participate this year at Top Shelf.

Cash prizes this year are €467,800 at ATP and $235,000 at WTA . The tournament is the last chance for players to improve their game before coming to Wimbledon’s grass.
